A number of poorly planned areas and ill-conceived features made this house unattractive and inhospitable. After purchasing it on impulse, the owners disliked the house and were ready to sell it. But subtle, strategic alterations changed the character of this home and ultimately transformed it into a gracious, charming home. Lowering the ceilings imparted warmth; new lighting and quality wood detailing added texture and character; custom windows brought the dramatic mountain views into play. Transforming an unused laundry room into a cozy, intimate library/den gave the home a more usable space.
