This Old House Gallery

Totally remodeling an entire 67 year old home, increasing its size by 1,200 square feet, adding a lap pool and re-landscaping the grounds would be challenging under any circumstances. But add the condition of having to complete the project in 90 days while being followed by the cameras of a nationally broadcast television series and one starts to understand the situation the McCaleb team faced in December of 1997 as they began demolition at Tucson’s midtown residence. Almost miraculously, on the 89th day a sod lawn was rolled out and on day 90 the cast, crew and hundreds of Tucsonans celebrated the completion of the project. For three months McCaleb skillfully orchestrated the efforts of vendors, suppliers, and craftsman, and created a finished product that was described by the Producer of This Old House as “absolutely top drawer.”
